1. What are the minimum requirements?
No need to be a hardcore DSLR-toting shooter to join PhotoTreks. All you need is (1) A keen interest in photography (2) A digital camera, and (3) An adventurous spirit.
2. Do I need a DSLR camera?
Don't worry if you don't happen to have a big black Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera. You can bring a point n' shoot, prosumer digicam or even your iPhone. As long as its a digital camera that offers some form of user control, you are most welcome to join PhotoTreks. Rest assured that whatever camera you have, we'll help you take the best possible pictures with it.
3. Can I skip the photo critique sessions?
No. PhotoTreks is a photography tour, and our nightly photography critique/discussion sessions are an important part of it. If you prefer to just go sightseeing, this is NOT the tour for you.
4. Can I ask for a single room instead of the usual twin- or triple- sharing room?
We book twin- or triple-sharing accommodations because these are often the available rooms in our destinations. Single rooms can be requested on a case-to-case basis - if there's one available then we'll arrange for it on-site. Any extra cost will be shouldered by the participant.
5. Is there an age limit for participants?
Yes - the minimum age for PhotoTreks participants is 18 years.
6. Can I change my flight to or from the destination?
If you wish to change your flight destinations, we advise you to buy the flight tickets yourself. Do let us know and we'll see how we can adjust your fee.
7. Can a PhotoTrek be cancelled?
We've never cancelled a PhotoTrek and we don't ever want to. But there can be situations - say, a natural calamity or political situation - when traveling to a destination should not be done. When this happens, we will reschedule the PhotoTrek, or you may opt to back out. In case of the latter, a full refund will be given.
8. Can I cancel my slot?
We require a NON-REFUNDABLE 30% downpayment in order to secure your slot. You may cancel your slot, but the downpayment will not be refunded. In case you've already made full payment and wish to cancel, we will only refund the remaining 70% of the payment.
9. Can I extend my stay?
You most definitely can! Just tell us your plans and we can give advise on your trip extension. Again any the you will have to shoulder the additional cost. Hey, if there's enough members in the group that want to extend (and maybe if you ask him nicely...) Lester might even consider extending the whole PhotoTrek!
10. Do you provide travel insurance?
PhotoTreks does not provide travel insurance - you may inquire about this from an online travel insurance provider, or from the nearest travel agency.
